Learning from Losing

AAs a young boy, I was a passionate athlete and sports enthusiast. I played football, tennis, and hockey, and I was always highly driven to win. But I also struggled immensely with losing. Whether it was my own team on the field or my favorite club suffering a defeat, I always felt deeply disappointed.

Early on, I tried to learn from my mistakes and use them to improve. I analyzed my performance, talked with coaches and teammates, and worked on new techniques. This mindset ultimately made me a better athlete.

Today, I still apply this approach in my work. I love innovation and am always looking for new ways to improve things. But I also recognize that change isn’t always easy. That’s why I constantly ask the question: Why do we do things the way we do?

I believe it’s crucial to critically examine the current situation. Why are we doing it this way? Is there a better approach? By asking these questions, we can gain new insights and drive innovation. Additionally, I put the customer at the center of every challenge. To me, this is the foundation of any renewal or transformation. What does the customer want? What are their needs? By focusing on the customer, we can ensure that our products and services truly align with market demands.

In short

My experience as an athlete taught me that losing isn’t a failure—it’s an opportunity to learn and grow. I now apply this mindset to my work, using critical thinking and a customer-first approach to gain new insights and drive meaningful innovation.
